|Comments:||Finally received BSEE from St. Louis University in June 1969 after originally starting at Missouri University in Fall 1958. In the meantime, worked for the government for three & a half years, spent two years in the Army, plus another year at MIZZOU.
Retired June 1st 2008. Had worked for the same company, although several different owners, since June 1969. Started out as a Systems Engineer at the Electronics & Space Division of Emerson Electric. When Emerson spun us off as a division of ESCO Electronics I was a Logistics Data Processing Manager. ESCO sold us off to Engineering Support Systems Inc. (ESSI) [those of you have remained in the area will probably recognize this as Mike Shanahan’s company, which has been in the news for the last couple of years]. Some where in there I became a Senior Provisioning Specialist (for those not in the Defense Business, we help the customer determine what spare parts are required to support the equipment which we sell them and also generate the “Parts” portion of their maintenance manuals). ESSI was sold to DRS Technologies out of Parsippany, NJ. and the division was renamed DRS Sustainment Systems Inc.
Have belonged to St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood since the wedding and both boys went to St. Peter Grade School and Vianney High School.
While the boys were growing up I was active in sports as “assistant” coach on all their CYC teams. When they were involved in Scouting, I held various leader positions, Webelo Den Leader, Assistant Scout Master and Scout Master.
Eileen & I enjoy frequent trips to Branson, yearly family reunions and monthly get-togethers with Fellow Mick Alumni and their wives, John and Charlotte Gianino and Jim and Ginny (deceased 2/13) Einspanier. The wives are all ’60 grads of Coyle High in Kirkwood.
Now that I am retired, we plan to do some traveling.
In re last statement, but totally unplanned in our wildest dreams: In the summer of '09 found out I was one of 25 winners in the Wheel of Fortune World Cafe Week Sweepstakes. Prize was all expense paid 7-day/6-nite trip to Italy. I extended it to13/12 and Eileen and I took the trip in May '10; 4 nites in Rome, 6 in Florence with day trips to Cinque Terre, Tuscany(Sienna, San Gimignano & Pisa) and Assisi, and 2 in Venice. Had a terriffic time.
