After attending McBride High School, I went to Northeast Missouri State Teachers College on a music scholarship I received from McBride. I started as a band teacher in Shelbina, MO and made my way to California as a principal at Fontana High in 1957 and went to USC to get my doctorate in management. From there I was at was the Northridge State University for 15 years. Then I went to Sanoma State University as president to solve a problem and then in 1977 I was transferred to California State University to help solve a problem there and became president there in 1977 to 1983 before I retired. I was called the fireman to put out fires at the universities. It was a great career.
