11/08 - I have been active in tournament bridge for over 30 years. Currently - Chief Tournament Director of the American Contract Bridge League. The ACBL is the largest bridge organization in the world. With more than 160,000 members, the ACBL is the sanctioning and hosting organization for over 1100 tournaments and 3300 bridge clubs in North America (over 3 million club and tournament tables in 2008). www.acbl.org The ACBL is headquartered in Memphis TN. I've been at headquarters since 2001, with hopes of returning to STL before the end of 2009.

I've been lucky enough to work a handful of World Championships on a contract basis for the World Bridge Federation; most recently in Beijing, China. I spent 3 weeks in their fabulous Olympic Village. Loved the people, loved the country: if you ever get the chance GO to China.

Married once, divorced '83. My one child, daughter Ann (Dayton '04), is a STL police officer. I am hoarding cash for her 5/2/09 wedding to fellow police office Tom Long (Vianney and SEMO).

Like many of my fellow Micks, I continue to appreciate and value the education and foundation given to us by McBride's dedicated staff of Marianists and lay staff.

**************************

12/11 - I have found my way back to St Louis after almost ten years in Memphis. I continue to be active in tournament bridge, but with fewer administrative duties. Thankfully I still enjoy the travel and the people, I am one of the lucky ones. With the birth of my first granddaughter (9/21/11) I may give more consideration to reducing my work load and its travel schedule.

*****************************
Retired 12/20 - taking up golf with a number of Micks; loving our regular 4s and 8s. Filling retirement time as an usher at the Fox and at Powell Symphony Hall.

Rich, I took my grand daughter to the recent MO State Track & Field finals in Jeff City. During the long weekend I reflected on running and hurdling at McBride. How the hell did you run high hurdles?!? Just too tough.
Hope you are doing well, and hope that you have a happy birthday.

Mike, thanks for all of your efforts in trying to keep us all in touch. Please keep me on your list for those interested in an irregular lunch / brunch. One of these months my work schedule is going to allow me to show my face.
