Hey Guys!
Life took a real turn when I reconnected in 2015 with a dear friend from my medical residency days in Memphis 1978-82 when she was engaged to a fellow medical resident. The 35 years apart vanished and we became inseparable. I ultimately moved to her home in Nashville in 2018. Patty then became very ill and in the company of her 3 grown children she died in early 2020 in our arms in the home she loved. It was the most blessed 5 years of my life.
I lived in Coronado, CA 1997 until 2018 after being in Seattle for 15 years. My daughter (1996) now lives in Brooklyn and works in the film/TV world finding books and stories for production.
My career in medicine has been a real ride! After more than a decade as the critical care director at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, I moved to the San Diego area and was a professor of medicine at UCSD. In 2001 I resigned and accepted a commission as a Commander in the US Navy. My tour in the Gulf aboard ship caring for combat casualties was the most rewarding time in my career. Currently, I am the medical director for CIGNA Healthcare's LifeSource Transplant Network.
I rarely get back to St. Louis, but I hope to hear from you guys and get caught up!
