Coached football & baseball @ Carl Junction HS (MO), University of Illinois, Cornell University, Northwestern University, Indiana University, Bloomington HS South and Bloomington Cutters Semi-Pro.
Fortunate to have coached in 6 Bowl Games and on a State HS Championship Team.
After electing to say goodbye to college coaching, did development work for Indiana University and IU athletics until retirement 6/13. Accepted position as Development Director for local Community Foundation 8/13.
Most fortunate to have married the Homecoming Queen from Riverview HS, Bevo Walker, who I kidnapped and has been held hostage for 44+ years. Thoroughly outkicked my coverage. She has given me 3 great sons, Matt- a fireman here in Bloomington, Married, wife Naomi, Father of my 2 granddaughters and was Tony Romo's Center in college, Marc- Career soldier/Sergeant in Army National Guard, his post is here in Bloomington, served 1 tour in Iraq, Married, wife Chris, Mike- Head FB Coach @ Hudson Valley CC, Troy NY, coached at Indiana University, Syracuse University, Green Bay Blizzard (Arena), Single.
Like to chase things with feathers be they ducks, geese, pheasants....or the all time favorite-Wild Turkeys.
Planned to be a millionaire but the ship that was supposed to come in must have gotten lost at sea. Developing waterfront land in Western Panama on the Caribbean side, but that goose hasn't laid that golden egg yet either....but the spirit is willing. The beer in Bocas del Toro is very cheap though.

Did not appreciate the quality of the terrific education, the educators working with us and the relationships made until after the fact. Belated but sincere thanks to those good teachers, good men that worked mostly in vain to knock sense into me.
