My dear big brother Johnny, you always wanted to make me cry. Well, a damn fine job of that you have been doing lately! I'll always appreciate the life lessons that I learned from you and Steve. Like when you both sent me into Oldani's Tom-Boy store, had me fill one of those little brown bags with penny candy, then tell Mrs. Oldani to charge it to Mrs. Kersten's account. Mrs. Oldani first called Mrs. Kersten, and then Mom. Lesson learned!. How about the time Steve led the four of us out of our bedroom window onto the flat roof over the back room addition to the house, and then up the pitched roof to the peak of our two-story home. There was poor Mrs. Keegan yelling "Peggy, Peggy, your kids are on the roof!". I think that may have given Mom a heart palpation or two. Mike was probably barely past toddler stage. We had a long way to go to reach "Major Learner" status! I have great memories of our trips, especially Peru and Ireland. What great times in Cusco and Machu Picchu, and the ND vs Navy game and the Gaelic football match in Dublin. So many great memories to soften the blow of losing you. Until the day comes when we meet again, Rest In Peace and Heavenly Bliss!
Happy Birthday Joe! Hope all is well with you and your family. Say hi to Chris for me.
Or was it Ted?!
We had some good times, Joe. Rest in peace old friend.

Happy Birthday Dan!
My heart is heavy. I can't believe that my dear old friend, Myles, is gone. I first saw Myles in the fall of 1961. I was on the Nativity # 2 soccer team, bantams I think. It had been a rough season when we met Our Lady of Perpetual Help on an overcast and chilly day. Myles was a center forward, or maybe inside right or left, for PH. It was a defensive struggle. I scored the lone goal and we won our first game. At coach's urging, my teammates made a valiant attempt to lift me up on their shoulders, but alas, they failed. Thus ended the highlight of my athletic career, in a mud puddle at Fairgrounds Park. PH came back to beat us in our second match. We ended the season deadlocked in last place with one victory a piece. The next fall, there was Myles in our fifth grade class. The Jones family had moved to Nativity of Our Lord Parish. By sixth grade, Myles was selling newspapers at Riverview and W. Florissant. I would go down and hang out while he sold papers. We have been the best of friends ever since. So many memories. McBride, working at Lombardo's restaurant, UMSL, Friday's Too, sharing an apartment, Magee's, softball, road trips, always another game to attend or watch on the tube. Cardinals baseball and football, the Blues, the Rams, SLU basketball and soccer, March Madness, Faurot Field, the racetrack, jai alai, the greyhounds, Nastase v Connors. I pray for Myles, his beloved Sue, their wonderful children, Alex, Patrick, and Jackie, and their beautiful families, and for Myles's siblings and their families. Dear Myles, if some day through God's grace, and perhaps the intercession of our sainted mothers, Anne and Peggy, we should meet in Paradise, have a cold one ready for me, we'll watch the game!!

Hey Dan, Here's a trombone for sale on ebay. I think it's the same model that you used at McBride. I hope all is well. Chuck
